1.Diethylene glycol mainly used as gas dehydrating agent and aromatic extraction solvent. It is also used as a solvent for nitroce-llulose, resin, grease, printing ink, etc., a softener and finishing agent for textiles, and the extraction of coumarin and indene from  Coal--tar  In addition, diethylene glycol is also used as brake oil mixture, celluloid softener, antifreeze and diluent in lotion polymerization.
